So you don’t know me, but…

Hello internet people who live inside my computer

Had an idea today that I thought would be really fun…  hopefully you all will too.  Or you’ll think it’s a little creepy and/or crazy.  Either way, it should be entertaining!  🙂

I sometimes do silly things to get my brain “writing ready.”  Since starting jesscombs.com, it’s been getting on here in the morning and writing a post.  By the time my post is done for the day, I’ve come up with pretty much everything I want to add to my book.  Other times, I imagine conversations or letters I would write to people who have no idea that I exist in the world.

This morning, I was completely blank.  Writer’s block – BIG time.  Couldn’t think of a single thing to post here (or for my poor novel)!  So, I decided to do one of my imaginary letters.  Then I thought, “hey, I bet my blogging friends have imaginary peeps too!”  Dear Person

Here’s my brilliant idea…  every Thursday, I’m going to post a “So you don’t know me, but…” letter.  The first of which is my apology letter to Felicia Day.

Do you have a person you’d like to “send” a letter to?  Shoot me an email through the Comment tab, or send a .doc attachment to jessica@jesscombs.com.  I’ll pick one and post it on Thursday of each week.

At least… I hope I will.   This will kinda only work if you guys send me your letters.  Make sure to include a link to your blog (if you have one) or any other identifying information you want to share with the class (twitter, facebook, etc.).

Let the creepiness begin…

  1. I love this idea! I have no idea who I’d write to, but after reading your letter to Felicia I might try to come up with something! I’ll add it to a to-do list and brainstorm for a while. Thanks for the idea, and I hope that other people like it too because I know I’d love to read more of these!

    1. Thanks! 🙂 I’m hoping that others will send me their own letters. But, if someone wanted me to, they could send me their idea and I could write one using their idea. They can be to anyone (or anything, really)… fictional character, the faulty toaster oven at work, etc.
