Starting Over

I began this blog years ago. If I’m remembering correctly, it was 2015? I mostly posted book reviews but also a bit about my unfinished crafting and writing projects and just life in general. When I look back to that time, it’s like looking back at another persons life. So much has happened between then and now!

I “moved” the site multiple times but this last time everything disappeared and so here I am thinking about what I want to use it for now. It’s a blank page, a new start, and after the the past couple of years, I could use that.

In 2024, we began fostering our youngest daughter’s sister and are now moving forward with adopting her. Shortly after her coming to us, we had the first of many hospital stays with her. We came home from that admission and the next day storms came through that knocked the power for a week. When the power came back, it was followed by another storm that flooded our home and we spent nights not just in the hospital but also in an extended stay hotel for months. And let me tell you, I love my kids, but six of them in one hotel suite for two months is not something I care to experience again!

Coming home didn’t mean the work was done, just that we could finish trying to clean up and assess exactly what all was lost. During this time, we had also been starting work on building a new home, outside of the flood plain.

I won’t bore you with all the events we have lived through since then, I’ll just say, I’ve started over in so many areas of my life, starting over here just somehow makes sense.

So here I am. Starting anew.

I have no idea where this is going to go. I miss sharing the books I love so I’ll probably start there.
