I managed to read a little bit more yesterday than in Day 1 of the 2019 Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon hosted by Tess at Wishful Endings. Here are my stats at the end of Day 2:
Books Read:
Beautiful Revolutionary by Laura Elizabeth Woollett
This was the only book I read yesterday (other than some very short children’s books). I don’t actually know much about Jim Jones and his cult, but so far this story is amazing in a creepy sorta way.
So I’m trying really hard not to compare my first day of the Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon to last year, but I’m not succeeding! I currently have 4 kids under the age of 4 here so it’s silly to think I’ll be reading entire books every day… Yet my competitive nature still produces an inner voice that says I must constantly be improving and doing better than before. So I’m really struggling to just be happy with what I can do right now.
Because the idea that I should be anywhere near the page count I was at last year is a ridiculous lie.
The truth is, every page I get to read is a victory! So without further ado, the following is my Day 1 Update:
Books Read:
Beautiful Revolutionary by Laura Elizabeth Woollett
Pages Read: 28
The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
I hadn’t actually planned on reading The Wizard of Oz during the read-a-thon, but the kids found the copy My husband got me from The Folio Society for my birthday and they were obsessed with the pictures so I decided might as well read it to them! We got through 14 pages together.
Well, the 2018 Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon hosted by Wishful Endings has officially come to an end. I didn’t get a chance to post for the last couple of days, but I didn’t get to read much either so I guess it’s okay. I had a great time participating and am excited to do so again next year!
I was able to get 5 books, which is short of my original goal of reading 6 books during this week. However, knowing how difficult it was going to be with the babies and birthday parties happening I was smart… I set a secondary goal of 100 pages per day, which I definitely managed to pull off!!!
Here’s my wrap up:
Total Books Read: 5 Total Pages Read:1,399 Finished Books:Hunting Annabelle by Wendy Heard, Get Weird by CJ Casciotta, A Home for the Redeemed by Sue Behnke, Auschwitz Lullaby by Mario Escobar, and Not the girls your looking for by Aminah Mae Safi
Thanks everyone that wished me luck during the week and cheered me on!!
I totally forgot to post an update yesterday for Day 4 of the 2018 Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon hosted by Wishful Endings! So…I’m just combining my days 4 & 5 together into one post.
So here’s how Days 4 & 5 – September 20 & 21, 2018 went for me:
Books Read Days 4 & 5: Auschwitz Lullaby by Mario Escobar and Not the girls you’re looking for by Aminah Mae Safi
Pages Read: 375
Total Books Read: 4 Total Pages Read:Unsure thanks to a glitch on my Kindle Finished Books:Hunting Annabelle by Wendy Heard, Get Weird by CJ Casciotta, A Home for the Redeemed by Sue Behnke, Auschwitz Lullaby by Mario Escobar.
Looks like I should be able to meet my goal of finishing 6 books during the Read-a-thon!!!
(A side note…If you’re wondering why my posts look a little funky, it’s because I’ve been updating from my phone and I have no idea what I’m doing! Just bear with me while I try to figure out how to format my posts using the app. Eventually I’ll figure it out…I hope!)
Total Books Read: 3 Total Pages Read:Unsure thanks to a glitch on my Kindle Finished Books: Hunting Annabelle by Wendy Heard, Get Weird by CJ Casciotta, A Home for the Redeemed by Sue Behnke
I didn’t get as much read today as I hoped for, but I was able to finish up Get Weird! Wish me luck for tomorrow!
